Asian District

The Vietnamese community has a continually growing presence in Oklahoma, with Vietnamese being the third most spoken language following English and Spanish. The center of Asian culture resides in the area surrounding the intersection of NW 23rd St and Classen Boulevard in Oklahoma City. As of now, the district suffers from a lack of accessible directional information and an atmosphere that discourages pedestrian movement. After extensive research, the proposal of interactive digital kiosks spread throughout the Asian District solves this issue. The kiosk’s aesthetic both architecturally and graphically references the community’s culture and elegance, establishing a sense of place. Users can access historical information, cultural events throughout the year, and a directory.
